knews.lk යනු මාධ්ය ආචාරධර්මවලට ගරුකරමින් ගවේෂණාත්මක පුවත්පත් කලාවක නියැළෙන ස්වාධීන, ලාභ නොලබන ප්රවෘත්ති වෙබ් අඩවියක් සහ යූටියුබ් අවකාශයකි. අපි අපගේ වැදගත් ගැටලු පිළිබඳව ගැඹුරින් සොයා බලමින්, බලය අවභාවිත කිරීම් සහ මහජන විශ්වාසය කඩ කිරීම් පිළිබඳව මහජනයාට කරුණු අනාවරණය කරන්නට කැප වන්නෙමු.
කැපවූ මාධ්යවේදීන් කණ්ඩායමක් සමඟින්, ගවේෂණාත්මක මාධ්ය කලාවට අමතරව විද්යාව, තාක්ෂණය, කලාව, දේශපාලනය, ආර්ථිකය, ජීවිතය, සෞඛ්ය ආදී පුළුල් පරාසයක මාතෘකා ආවරණය කිරීම knews.lk හි දීර්ඝකාලීන අරමුණයි.

පුවත්පත් කලාව තුළින් අපට ලැබුණු ගවේෂණාත්මක මාධ්ය කලාව යනු විශාල කාලයක් සහ සම්පත් ප්රමාණයක් අවශ්ය අවකාශයකි. ලාභ නොලබන ආයතනයක් ලෙස, knews.lk බලගැන්වෙන්නේ ඔබගේ පරිත්යාග මගිනි.

2004 වසරේ සිට ‘රාවය, අනිද්දා, රතුඉර’ ආදී ශ්රී ලාංකේය පුවත්පත් රැසක ගවේෂණාත්මක ජනමාධ්යවේදියෙක් ලෙස කටයුතු කර ඇත. 2016-2017 කාලයේ රාවය පුවත්පතේ විශේෂාංග කතුවරයා ලෙසද, අනිද්දා පුවත්පතේ ආරම්භක විශේෂාංග කතුවරයා ලෙසද කටයුතු කර තිබේ.
සම්මාන සහ ඇගයීම්
Journalism Awards for Excellence සම්මාන උළෙලේදී 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 යන වසර හතර තුළ අඛණ්ඩව ශ්රී ලංකාවේ විශිෂ්ටතම ජනමාධ්යවේදියාට පිරිනැමෙන මර්වින් ද සිල්වා සම්මානය හිමිකරගෙන ඇත. (2024 කුසලතා සම්මානලාභී)
ඔහු ජනමාධ්යවේදියෙක් ලෙස කටයුතු කරන අතරම වාර්තා චිත්රපටකරුවෙක් ('And Then They Came for Me' - 2025), ලේඛකයෙක් සහ සමාජ ක්රියාකාරිකයෙක් ලෙසද කටයුතු කරයි.
Our Mission
knews.lk is an independent, non-profit news website and YouTube platform engaged in investigative journalism while strictly upholding media ethics. We are committed to delving deep into critical issues and uncovering facts for the public regarding abuses of power and breaches of public trust.
With a dedicated team of journalists, the long-term goal of knews.lk is to cover a wide array of topics including science, technology, arts, politics, economy, lifestyle, and health, in addition to our core focus on investigative journalism.
K. Sanjeewa
Having worked as an investigative journalist since 2004 across several Sri Lankan newspapers including Ravaya, Anidda, and Rathu Ira, K. Sanjeewa served as the Features Editor of the Ravaya newspaper from 2016 to 2017, and as the founding Features Editor of the Anidda newspaper from 2017 to 2020.
He has also served as the News Editor for the Rathu Ira Sunday newspaper.
Awards & Recognition: A member of the Ravaya editorial board since 2013, K. Sanjeewa won the prestigious Mervyn de Silva Award for Journalist of the Year at the Journalism Awards for Excellence for four consecutive years (2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017). He was also recognized with a merit award in 2024.
Alongside his journalism career, he is a documentary filmmaker, author, and social activist. 'And Then They Came for Me' is his latest documentary, completed in 2025, which explores the life and assassination of The Sunday Leader Editor Lasantha Wickrematunge.
The knews.lk website operates under his leadership as Chief Editor.
Investigative journalism, rooted in traditional newspaper culture, is a field that requires immense time and resources. The newspaper industry is collapsing, and today, Sri Lanka is left without a single national newspaper dedicated to investigative journalism.
Furthermore, the newsrooms of many new media platforms no longer possess the financial capacity for in-depth reporting.
